The objective of this rapid review is to look for approaches of integrative medicine that have been described in published literature to optimise the integration of Traditional and Complementary Medicine into the Malaysian healthcare system.

 

What did the review find?

- 7 narrative reviews, 2 systematic reviews, and one each of scoping review and literature review were included in the review. 

- Integrative medicine approaches were implemented in specific contexts such as oncology, lower back pain, allergy and immunology, as well as acupuncture.

- It was mainly described to be holistic and patient-centred, emphasising evidence-based medicine.
