Background:
The Nursing Division of the Ministry of Health Malaysia was in the process of revising a guideline for pressure injury prevention. Revisiting of indicators used was needed to improve service delivery. Thus, a rapid review was required to identify appropriate indicators used internationally that could be used for comparison.
Conclusion:
The review found that different countries used different variable criteria for monitoring pressure ulcer/injury. Therefore, in selecting the appropriate pressure injury indicators to be adopted or adapted for the Malaysian population, the selection of implementation criteria should align with the aim of monitoring and applicability of indicators in the local setting.
