The Malaysian Alliance for Embedding Rapid Reviews in Health Systems Decision-Making (MAera) was honoured to host an ERA in-country training workshop organised by the WHO Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research from 31 October - 2 November 2018.

Dr. Rhona Mijumbi-Deve and Dr Ismael Kawooya from the Africa Centre for Rapid Evidence Synthesis, Makerere University, Uganda facilitated the workshop and shared their experiences in setting up a rapid response service for evidence in health systems decision making. The workshop was attended by participants from various backgrounds including researchers from the NIH, policymakers from different programmes in the Ministry of Health as well as academics from several universities.

It is hoped that this will be the start in forming a network to link policymakers and researchers together to work together in producing timely evidence in supporting health systems decision making to improve nation's health.
