Today, 29th November 2021 records yet another achievement by IHSR. YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Health Malaysia, launched two publications by IHSR, namely, “MALAYSIA HEALTH SECTOR RESPONSE TO COVID-19 : HOPE DESPITE ADVERSITY” dan “THE CHRONICLES OF COVID-19 : THE TSUNAMI” at the Ballroom of National Institutes of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Setia Alam.
“MALAYSIA HEALTH SECTOR RESPONSE TO COVID-19 : HOPE DESPITE ADVERSITY” is the third book in the series that highlights the efforts of various parties in the health sector in tackling this pandemic. In current edition, its focus is on subsequent response following the movement control order that began in 2020 which was crafted according to the COVID-19 infection burden in order to strike a balance between "lives and livelihoods". Among the components recorded were the implementation of public-private sector collaboration, a national immunisation program, as well as the challenge of managing COVID-19 during the flood season.
“THE CHRONICLES OF COVID-19 : THE TSUNAMI”, is the fourth of it series that narrates the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country by combining information published through publicly available resources including social media, further providing an overview of the chronological order of historical events experienced by Malaysians in efforts overcoming the various challenges that come.
This dual-launching was witnessed by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health - Dato’ Mohd Shafiq bin Abdullah, Director-General of Health Malaysia - Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, and Deputy Director-General of Health (Research and Technical Support) - Datuk Dr Hishamshah Mohd Ibrahim and also National Institutes of Health (NIH) team led by NIH Manager, Dr S Asmaliza Ismail; NIH Registrar, Ms Safriah MD. Adzhar and IHSR Director, Dr Nor Izzah Haji Ahmad Shauki as well as Directors from other NIH institutes.
